Use of Account Code 59000

Effective July 1, 2007, a new combo edit will be added to the financial system to allow the use of account code 59000 (recharge income) only with funds in the “Sales & Services-Educ Activity”, “Sales & Service-Auxiliary Enterprises”, “Other Sources”, and “Other Sources-Service Enterprises”
fund groups, fund blocks (funds 60000-74999). This new edit means that only funds within these fund blocks may use account code 59000 to record their recharge income transactions.

If you have been using account code 59000 with a fund not within the fund blocks listed above and believe you need to continue your practice, please send email to the Budget Office Help Desk (bkbudget@berkeley.edu) so we may explore other options with you. Other options may include using a fund within the sales and service or auxiliary fund blocks to record your activity or using other appropriate account codes.
