Vacation Leave Assessment Rate Changing Effective September 1, 2011

Effective September 1, 2011 the payroll assessment rate for vacation leave is changing to 100% of vacation accrual. This is an increase from the previous rate of 95% of vacation accrual. Vacation leave is assessed on all payroll expenses regardless of fund source.

The central vacation leave reserve and vacation leave usage have been monitored since the implementation of the Financial Leave Accrual Program in 2004. Adjustments are made annually to the vacation leave assessment rate to sufficiently fund the central reserve to cover vacation leave usage and terminal vacation.
