New Address for Legacy BFSv8.8 System Access Effective October 31, 2011

Beginning October 31, 2011, BFSv8.8 (the legacy system with BFS information prior to July 2010) is accessible through a new web address: https://bfs88.berkeley.edu. Users may also continue to access BFSv8.8 at this new address via links in Blu or the BFS/BAIRS website. This change in address was necessary to allow continued access to BFSv8.8 after the retirement of the mainframe until the new Procure-to-Pay reports are available to campus.

The only difference in functionality that you will notice is when printing. Similar to BFSv9, there is no longer any “pop-up” printing access. You can begin the usual BFSv8.8 printing processes (see the Quick Reference Guides on the BFS/BAIRS website), but you will need to end each process by navigating to the Report Manager, then the Administration tab, and clicking on the blue link in the Description column to view the document.

Printing a Purchase Order

You may still use the View Printable Version hyperlink at the bottom of the PO header page (see the BFSv8.8 instructions Print an Unofficial PO), and then navigate to Reporting Tools (in the blue Menu box on the left) > Report Manager to view the document.

Financial Journals

Use the BFSv8.8 instructions for printing (Print a Financial Journal from the Print Report Function), then click on the Report Manager hyperlink on the Journal Entry Detail Report page after you click on the Run to Window button.

Budget Journals

Use the BFSv8.8 instructions for printing (Print a Single Temporary Budget Journal), then click on the hyperlink Report Manager on the Tempbudg Journal Detail Report page after you click on the Run to Window button.

Users who already have access to BFSv8.8 will continue to have access after October 31; no additional action is required. New BFSv8.8 users may request access to BFSv8.8 through the Systems Access Request Application (SARA) by choosing the BFS and BIBS section and selecting the Ver 8.8 Financial Inquiry – AP/PO/GL/Vendor role.
