Federal Express Shipments - Change from SpeedCharts to SpeedTypes

Federal Express shipments must include a SpeedType to identify the chartstring to be charged. Prior to the implementation of BearBuy, campus users created these SpeedTypes by entering SpeedCharts in BFS, and an automated process updated the values in the SpeedType table.

With the implementation of BearBuy, the ability to enter SpeedTypes has been enabled in BFS, and the automated process has been discontinued.

SpeedCharts will no longer be converted to SpeedTypes.  Therefore, going forward, if you want a value to be available for FedEx use, enter the value in BFS as a SpeedType, not as a SpeedChart. The SpeedType should be entered in the “Your reference” field of Billing Details on fedex.com. New SpeedType values will be uploaded to the FedEx website weekly.
